What is a Cookie?

A cookie is a block of text that a web site sends to your Internet browser (such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator). The cookie text Juno stores and sends to you is for personalization and security features on your Juno account. To protect your personal information, Juno uses Secure Socket Layering (SSL) to encrypt* your personal information as it travels across the Internet, and we use cookies to ensure that we send your Juno account information only to your browser. In order to get personal account information at juno.com, you must enable your Internet browser to accept cookies.

Encryption is the process for scrambling your trading and account information as it passes between Juno and your computer. The encryption process is built into most Internet browsers. The larger the number of bits for encryption (e.g., 40 or 128) the more difficult (exponentially) it is for an unauthorized person to scramble the transmission. The highest level of encryption commercially available is 128-bit and is a more secure way to access your Juno information.

Because many commercial browsers currently in use only support 40-bit encryption, Juno has decided to allow our customers the choice of using a 40-bit or 128-bit encryption access but strongly urges the use of 128-bit browsers. Juno may only be liable for losses resulting from unauthorized transactions if it does not follow reasonable security procedures for verifying the identity of a user. Juno recommends that you verify the accuracy of your confirmation statements
immediately after you receive them.
